"Spiritual Inventory" ... A Scriptural Approach
A true spiritual revival among God's people is more than an evangelistic campaign. True revival means having a renewed sense of God's presence in our lives. When we are renewed, God reveals Himself in many wonderful ways! ( see Acts 2:41-47)
It is God's pleasure to revive and refresh His people.(Jer. 31:25 & Acts 3:19)
From time to time, indiviuals and churches need to be renewed and reminded of the Abundant Life that God has given to us in Christ. This is necessary because sin creates several roadblocks to spiritual growth in our lives. Some of these roadblocks:
- BITTERNESS and RESENTMENT - Hebrews 12:15
- CRITICAL ATTITUDE & FAULT-FINDING - Ephesians.4:31-32
- A DESIRE FOR RECOGNITION OR PRAISE - Matthew 23:10-12
- PERSONAL HOLINESS AND HABITS - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
- A LACK OF SILENCE AND SOLITUDE - Psalms 46:10
GOD MEETS US WHERE WE ARE!!!
God wants to give us new and abundant life. (Lamentations 3:22)
The spiritual requirement is turning to Christ from sin. The seeds of true revival are sown in brokenness which leads to faith, repentance and forgiveness.
God brings abundant life to those who are yeilded to Him. (Ps.51:16-17)
